With 25 years of experience in both government and the corporate world, Sharon occupies the nexus between public and private sectors.  She has extensive experience in government policymaking, analysis and reporting on political and economic developments in a wide range of countries, as well as in lobbying and working with governments.  At the same time, her private sector experience enables her to understand of the needs and interests of corporate clients. This allows her to operate at the intersection of public and private to deliver the strongest possible outcomes and highest standards of service for clients and stakeholders. 

A diplomat with the Singapore Foreign Service for 18 years, Sharon served diplomatic postings and assignments in Berlin, New York, Hanoi, and Washington DC.  In addition to bilateral and multilateral foreign policy, she was also responsible for a wide range of cross-border portfolios – ranging from international development assistance to Asia-Pacific geopolitics and regional security.  

Her private sector experience includes a key role at the regional headquarters of a Fortune 500 multinational FMCG company, where she specialised in combating illicit trade and related crimes. As the head of investigations for the APAC region, she oversaw and supervised a stable of consultants running investigative projects into illicit products in multiple markets across Asia and the Pacific.  She also worked closely with market affiliates in APAC to formulate and execute anti-illicit trade strategies in support of local commercial goals.  This included government engagement, public and consumer communications, and media engagement.


Previously also with Channel NewsAsia (CNA), Singapore’s regional cable news network, Sharon is familiar with the media, having supervised and coordinated coverage and delivery of international news on the cable channel as well as other traditional and digital media platforms.

Sharon graduated with an honours degree in political science from the National University of Singapore (NUS).  

An alumnus of the UCLA-NUS Executive MBA programme, she also has dual Masters degrees in Business Administration from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and the NUS Business School.
